The natural, beautiful golden coloring of old- growth pacific northwest douglas fir and genuine, turn-of-the-century sawmills' circular-sawn texture is king in these reclaimed 1905 barn rafter boards!
Carefully reclaimed from a local 1905 Ferndale barn we deconstructed, these boards are available in lengths from 4' to 20'+!
As a building material, old-growth Douglas fir's strength, durability and overall superiority is unmatched, and these reclaimed barn boards are PERFECT for making farmhouse furniture, building rustic projects in the garden and home, and for for adding beautiful & authentic PNW reclaimed barn wood accents to your walls and more! PLUS, they are TRULY the best and most sustainable building product available today! They are post-consumer reclaimed, making them 100% Recycled, and FSC Certified as such!
We salvage these boards locally through hand deconstruction of barns that are otherwise unwanted. A lot of care, education, and hard work goes into their preparation to be re-sold: we fully clean and de-nail them, and often will pressure wash them with a light electric washer (so as not to damage the grain). These boards are dense, heavy, and versatile! We have a LARGE number of boards processing right now, and they are available (fully cleaned: cut to custom length, de-nailed, hand-inspected and with ends cut square, and pressure washed) at $4.50/Linear Foot,
OR
if you'd like to save a little $$ and de-nail yourself, only $3.75/LF!
If you buy in large quantities, we can negotiate deeper discounts.
We have about 700 linear feet available!
These are a must-see! They are truly Great for too many applications to list, and are one of the most beautiful materials we've been blessed to reclaim!
Post-Consumer Reclaimed wood is the most environmentally responsible choice you can make when searching for reclaimed wood products! Seeing the process of reclaiming this valuable resource is one that you will remember every time you see your amazing product installed in your home!
A LITTLE ABOUT RECLAIMED WOOD, AND WHY IT'S ALWAYS THE BEST CHOICE!
Old-growth trees were typically larger and stronger, as they took decades, even centuries to grow and mature. Old-growth wood has greater density, is significantly heavier, and is more structurally stable than newly-harvested wood, which are desirable traits for specific “high-traffic” uses such as hardwood flooring. We are proud to provide a new life to these old-growth trees by offering a wide selection of reclaimed barn boards, dimensional lumber & timbers for all of your remodeling, restoring, building, and design needs!
Reclaimed antique barn wood is incomparable in terms of its ageless beauty and charm; these boards are truly unparalleled in each one's distinct quality and character. Our Pacific NW Reclaimed boards, lumber and materials all have beautiful, genuine rustic textures, traditional elegance and impressive durability.
As with ALL reclaimed barn wood products, many of the old historical “character marks” remain visible, as if proudly displaying ones' "war wounds", promising that our hand-deconstructed, cleaned, and inspected reclaimed materials are guaranteed to bring warmth, charm and an uncommon sense of style to any commercial or residential new build and/or remodeling project.
These historical character marks, which include nail holes, saw marks, mortises, notches, bolt holes and rich patinas, communicate the authenticity and history of the wood’s former life.
Using reclaimed wood offers beauty and defining character that simply cannot be found in newly-milled lumber, and can never be duplicated.
