This earthy, gorgeous blend of the most popular naturally weathered-to-perfection patinas reflect the beauty of reclaimed old-growth cedar found EXCLUSIVELY in PNW barns! These come from 100+ year old barns salvaged directly by our crew in NW Washington State, and are processed on-site to create the most authentic, yet easy to install & maintain reclaimed barn wood panels available!
What's better, is that this material is 100% FSC® Certified Recycled! (FSC® C041262.)
The tradition of painting barns red began as farmers sought ways to seal their structures from moss and fungal decay. Without the convenience of ready-made paint, farmers discovered that a blend of linseed oil, skimmed milk, lime, and rust would effectively protect their barns for many years. The color red comes from the key ingredient, rust (ferrous oxide). Signs of weathering, color variances, and cracked paint give these boards timeless character.
Rich with a working history & weathered to perfection; Pacific Northwest antique Salvaged barn wood has a beauty that is completely timeless.

Notes regarding Installation: Each board will be surfaced smooth on the back side for clean mounting, and ripped to width which will leave you with original face texture on one broad face. We recommend using our Reclaimed PNW Barn Wood Trim to finish your projects with bare edges/corners.
It is imperative that you take your boards out of the box when you receive them, and allow the wood to acclimate to your home's climate for at least 72 hours, although 1-2 weeks is ideal. When you're ready to install, lay out the planks into a staggered layout, for the best results, and cut as needed.
No two planks are the same – coloring and weathering depend on the barn’s location and exposure to the elements, because our wall paneling is made from only 100% RECLAIMED Antique American Barn Wood from the Pacific Northwest. The very nature of reclaimed barn wood material means planks may include knot holes--in these cases, we recommend painting the surface behind the planks to coordinate in tone or to blackout a white wall. You can do this using cheap flat black paint, or by stapling up tar paper.
To Start, mark a level line at the bottom of the area to be paneled, and check the level of boards as you work your way up.
Can apply to a number of surfaces: plywood, drywall (even with textured finish), hardboard panels, and more. Apply using a construction grade adhesive (if possible) and a simple brad nail gun with 1 1/2" brads, 18 gauge or higher. If you prefer, they are even easy to install using simple finishing nails.
A LITTLE ABOUT RECLAIMED WOOD, AND WHY IT'S ALWAYS THE BEST CHOICE!
Old-growth trees were typically larger and stronger, as they took decades, even centuries to grow and mature. Old-growth wood has greater density, is significantly heavier, and is more structurally stable than newly-harvested wood, which are desirable traits for specific “high-traffic” uses such as hardwood flooring. We are proud to provide a new life to these old-growth trees by offering a wide selection of reclaimed barn boards, dimensional lumber & timbers for all of your remodeling, restoring, building, and design needs!
Reclaimed antique barn wood is incomparable in terms of its ageless beauty and charm; these boards are truly unparalleled in each one's distinct quality and character. Our Pacific NW Reclaimed boards, lumber and materials all have beautiful, genuine rustic textures, traditional elegance and impressive durability. When you buy from PNW Barn Wood Supply, Each board is individually inspected and graded to ensure durability, preservation and long life.
As with ALL reclaimed barn wood products, many of the old historical “character marks” remain visible, as if proudly displaying ones' "war wounds". The character is as such that our hand-deconstructed, cleaned, and inspected reclaimed materials are guaranteed to bring true warmth, charm and an uncommon sense of style to any commercial or residential new build, design and/or remodeling project.
These historical character, marks, which include oxidized nail holes, saw marks, mortises, notches, bolt holes and rich patinas, communicate the authenticity and history of the wood’s former life.
Using reclaimed wood offers beauty and defining character that simply cannot be found in newly-milled lumber, and can never be duplicated.
