Reclaimed mix of antique 1x4, 1x6, and 1x12 nominal Douglas fir and cedar (old-growth, from 1900 built Avon elementary) skip-sheathing boards. The large amount of smaller nails that held on the original cedar shakes create incredibly unique oxidation and patina, and are also the reason why these can be an incredibly great way to be able to use authentic, antique barn wood with gorgeous genuine character affordably, because you de-nail the boards yourself!
If you'd like, we are more than happy to show you what our favorite tools and techniques are for denailing this type of barn wood! There's no special tool needed, just a claw hammer, cat's paw-style nail puller, and a punch!
We offer these boards because we can't let such beautiful barn boards go to waste (most deconstruction outfits just break them and count them as waste!), and since the amount of work needed to denail them would make them ridiculously expensive, we figure, its a great way for people who want authentic barn wood for their project, but it's not quite in their budget. We have had a number of extremely happy clients who were thrilled with the results they were able to acheive! Lengths range from 3' to 12', although the majority are in the 4'-8' range.
Only $1.00 per linear foot for the 1x4 and 1x6s, $1.25 per linear foot for 1x12s. Your elbow grease earns you excellent value with naily boards! Extremely high-quality reclaimed barn boards, with the perfect rustic barn wood character for accent walls, ceilings, sign making and crafts, wainscoting, rustic window or door trim, or even beautiful wall art!
